Bucharest, May 28, 2026
Carstens Consulting Global (CCG) was proud to support, as community partner of the AUSA Prince Cuza Chapter – Bucharest, a strategic leadership seminar delivered by Lieutenant General (ret.) Laura Potter at the National Defense University “Carol I” in Bucharest.
The event, coordinated by the Association of the United States Army’s Prince Cuza Chapter, brought together students and distinguished guests for an afternoon of substantive dialogue on some of the most consequential questions facing defense and security professionals today.
A Distinguished Speaker
LTG (ret.) Potter brings an exceptional depth of experience to every room she enters. Over the course of her distinguished career, she held some of the most senior leadership positions in the U.S. military, serving as J2 at U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), G2 of the U.S. Army, and most recently as Director of the U.S. Army Staff (DAS): among the highest staff appointments in the United States Army.
It was both a privilege and an honor for CCG and the AUSA Prince Cuza Chapter to once again collaborate with LTG (ret.) Potter, whose willingness to engage openly and generously with audiences reflects the very best traditions of senior military leadership.
A Timely and Wide-Ranging Dialogue
The seminar addressed themes of immediate relevance to Romania’s defense community and to the broader transatlantic security architecture. Discussion ranged across the nature of military challenges in a rapidly changing world and the transformation required to meet evolving threats; the future of U.S.-NATO relations and Romania’s pivotal role in anchoring the Eastern Flank; and the importance of leadership and the growing role of women in the modern military. LTG (ret.) Potter drew on her firsthand experience navigating each of these questions at the highest levels of the U.S. national security establishment, enriching the conversation with perspective that cannot be found in any textbook.
Gratitude to the Host
CCG and the AUSA Prince Cuza Chapter extend sincere thanks to Major General Dr. Eugen Mavris, Commander (Rector) of the National Defense University “Carol I,” for graciously hosting the event and for his continued support of initiatives that strengthen the Romanian-American defense partnership.
A Dialogue That Matters
Events like this one are more than professional development opportunities: they are an investment in the human networks and shared understanding that underpin the U.S.-Romanian alliance. As the security environment along NATO’s Eastern Flank grows more complex, the value of frank, high-level dialogue between American and Romanian defense professionals only increases.
CCG remains committed to supporting the AUSA Prince Cuza Chapter and to contributing to the Romanian-American defense and security dialogue in every way we can.
